Can you make money investing in property abroad?

Good question!

Absolutely. The best deals are on properties abroad. One of my favorite things is to take a currency that has appreciated in value and a property that has also appreciated, refinance it to pull cash out, then use the proceeds to purchase real estate abroad from a motivated seller.

Investors that only invest in their little geographic area, their “farm area” are farmers and there is nothing wrong with them. Some people like to keep it on a smaller scale and only invest in what they can see and touch - good for them. I respect them but for me, with a world so big and so much money to be made around the world, to limit myself to one geographic area makes no sense.

Much better to have properties all over the world with residential and commercial tenants paying rent in multiple currencies instead of just having everything in one country.

Geographic diversification is just as important as asset class diversification.
