Welcome to PART 4 of my Alaskan Diving and Fishing Adventure! We still have one more day to spearfish and do some fishing to get fish to eat before docking in Pelican for the night. I had no luck spearfishing, but still had a great time exploring the underwater world while freediving. We arrived in Pelican as scheduled and toured the small village on foot. We had some drinks, discovered kelp worms and spent the night drinking boxed wine and walking around the town. In the morning, we woke up and took a tour of Yakobi Fisheries. We were supposed to board a sea plane to fly to Juneau afterwards, but our flight was cancelled when another sea plane crashed into rocks at Elfin Cove because of the high winds. The following morning, despite some fog in the mountains, we were able to take off in a Beaver seaplane. Once we landed in Juneau, we visited the Mendenhall Glacier before heading back to the airport for our flight back home. Thank you so much for joining me on this trip. I hope you had a great time coming along and we'll see you on the next adventure!

Spearfishing is the most sustainable and ethical form of fishing. Fish speared while freedive spearfishing using a speargun, polespear or Hawaiian sling are fish, lobsters and other oceanic delicacies that have already reached maturity and have had a chance to breed. When commercial fishing nets are stripping our ocean's fish supply, freedive spearfishing is sustainable fishing that allows for the renewal of fish populations. Spearfishing, while freediving or scuba diving to hunt for seafood, are some of the most dangerous lifestyles. Spearfishing and freediving are more than hobbies, they are a way of life for many.
