How to Grow Sesame Seeds

Sesame was the surprise hit of my summer garden. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I started seeds indoors in March and then planted them outside in April. Sesame thrived during the long, hot summer days. The plants grew large and were covered in pods. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The pods began turning color around October. As they matured, I collected the pods in a paper sack. Once the pods finished drying, I collected the seeds. We’ve already added these to salad and will try them in sesame chicken next. ⁣⁣
