My son Daniel when he was 16 years old (in 2000) brought home a baby raccoon. He wanted to keep this raccoon as a pet. Immediately people began to inform me that this was illegal in the state of Pennsylvania. That in order to have a raccoon in Pennsylvania you had to purchase one from someone who was licensed by the state to sell them. The reason for this was the high rate of rabies carried among them. But stubbornness rose up in my heart against what they were telling me.
