At least seven people have been killed and five others are missing following a landslide on the Italian island of Ischia.

A state of emergency has been declared after the mudslide ripped through the island on Saturday, following record-breaking torrential rain.

More than 100 emergency workers have been deployed to the island to dig through the torrent of mud and debris.

The government has allocated an initial sum of €2m (£1.7m) to help rebuild homes.
