The members of the organization were watching a turtle hatching nest on Lang Tengah Island when they came across a mutant 2-headed turtle. The group immediately named the creature after sharing this information on social networking sites. This is referred to as a "miracle turtle." The turtle's survival, according to team leader Seh Ling Long, is what makes it remarkable. "We rarely come across this," she explained. "This is the first time I've come across a living two-headed turtle. There are some possible causes of the turtle's mutation listed above. Even in healthy sea turtles, survival is relatively low; with a two-headed turtle, it will undoubtedly be more difficult." The last time they saw a two-headed turtle was in 2014. It only survived for two months or so. The government's Department of Fisheries has sent the two-headed turtle to its local Turtle Conservation and Information Center. The team reports that the turtle is doing well at the moment, but with both heads reacting to outside stimuli differently, the right end appears to be the more dominant one.
