One time Odysseus reached the island of the cyclops while attempting to return to Ithaca, his birthplace. He entered a cave full of food there with his guys. The cave's resident, Polyphemus, came back, blocked the entrance to prevent anyone from escaping, and then he took two of Odysseus' soldiers and ate them.
