This Superchip is the new fastest chip on the planet & here’s why it’s such a big deal.
The Nvidia Grace CPU is a 144-core server processor based on the ARM architecture as opposed to the good old x86 architecture used by Intel & AMD.
The chip is manufactured on a specialized version of TSMC’s bleeding edge 4nm process.
Now the main purpose of this chip is to be used in high-performance computing workloads such as AI.
And the really big deal is that with this Nvidia is gonna be spreading into the server computing space, which they’ve already dominated with their GPUs but now they’re also going after CPUs as well.
This will bring even more competition to Intel & AMD and if those companies have to step up their server processors game, that will eventually trickle down to the consumer CPUs as well.
