Old Rockers Losing Their Voice - WTF Happened to Axl, Bon Jovi & Vince Neil?

So, there's been a fair amount of controversy & WTF Moments lately with these old rockers losing their voice when still performing live in 2022.

Well, let's consider the difficulty of the material. They set the bar REALLY high vocally, try singing like that in your 60s or 70s, hell, try singing like that right now. Something very few critics have mentioned is that almost all these singers are using a technique called "mixed voice" which is difficult to master even if you're in your 20s. And if you don't practice it every day, it just kind of ... goes away.

Now, if you're Snoop Dogg, you can probably do the same Snoop Dogg vocals until you're 100 years old.

But if you're an older rock singer like Axl Rose, Vince Neil, Bon Jovi, David Coverdale, Bruce Dickinson or Robert Plant, it's going to be a helluva lot harder to hit those high notes with the same power when you're singing live. So you might lose your voice or crack when you're trying to hit such a high standard. So whether they're losing their voice or it's just a one-time bad performance many artists are having now to cancel shows due to singing problems, leaving people to say "WTF happened to AXL, WTF happened to Vince Neil, WTF happened to Bon Jovi?" It's 2022 & they're performing insanely difficult material in their 60s or 70s! They're doing an admirable job, considering. Maybe they should work with a vocal coach or keep it to the studio. Axl Rose loses his voice. Bon Jovi loses his voice. Vince Neil loses his voice. It's natural.
