Canada’s assisted suicide laws are already some of the loosest in the world and in March of 2023 they will expand even more to include the mentally vulnerable.

Recently, a Parliamentary Committee (HUMA) heard from the Quebec College of Physicians who recommended it be expanded even more to include infants up to 12 months of age. Committee member, MP Rosemarie Falk, put forward a motion to reject this recommendation. That motion was voted down by the Liberals, Bloc and NDP.

There have been a few recent and shocking instances of Canadians choosing or feeling forced to choose, MAiD.

In Ontario, a 31-year-old woman applied for medically assisted death after being unable to find suitable affordable housing.

A Canadian veteran was offered assisted death when he called the Veterans Affairs hotline for help dealing with PTSD.

In New Brunswick, a young man applied for MAiD citing depression because of not being able to find a girlfriend.
