NASA has successfully sent a capsule to visit the moon for the first time in 50 years, as the Orion spacecraft flew around the far side of the lunar surface.
Orion is expected to shatter NASA’s distance record for a spacecraft designed by astronauts, reaching a maximum distance of nearly 433,000 kilometres from Earth. Eric Sorensen explains how this milestone puts humanity one leap closer to a new chapter of exploring the moon.
