Faust Checho asks us if humans originate from crystals as we dive into the theories of famous organic chemist Alexander Graham Cairns-Smith who proposed an alternative theory of human evolution in his book Clay Minerals and the Theory of Life.

Cairns-Smith theorized that the first molecules of life originated on clay crystals and as the crystals naturally developed with their pattern-like structure they trapped organic molecules in between and arranging them in the correct organized patterns required to develop complex organic molecules.

Eventually these organic molecules took over this job and organized themselves into the complex organic life forms. That’s how humans came from crystals. What do you think?
