Bonnie Ross Quits, MoistCr1TiKaL PILES in, Forge news, Roadmap unleashed | Halo Infinite

Its been an interesting few weeks in Halo. For all the problems Halo Infinite has had the franchise is still able to generate headlines accross the games industry.

The roadmap upset just about everyone. Youtubers and games journalists piled in on 343 industries. Forge was properly shown off by the dev team. Moist Critical weighed in calling 343 the worst developer. And Bonnie Ross Sensationally quit last night effective immediately. All in all i thought it was worthy of a recap.

And then yesterdays news that Bonnie Ross is stepping aside and the studio restructured. Obviously we all wish her well with her personal situation and thank her for all she did to keep Halo alive at Microsoft.

Her role will be split into 3 which perhaps gives us an insight in to why the studio may have been strugglging to move as quickly as modern audiences would like.
Studio veteran and production lead Pierre Hintze will become studio head of 343i effective immediately, leading the studio's on-going development of Halo Infinite and The Master Chief Collection, as well as future games. The senior leadership team will expand with new roles, including Bryan Koski who will become GM of Franchise, and Elizabeth Van Wyck, who will oversee business and operations.

Whilst it is true that it will be some time until we see any major differences with the output of 343 you would be surpirsed how a change in leadership can affect a team who might have been feeling the pressure. If handled properly internally this could be the shot in the arm the franchise needs. Its worth noting however that each these new positions is being filled with an internal candidate so this might now be the big change we were all hoping for.
