We are often told a happy wife means a happy life. This extends in to telling "harmless" lies in order to keep our wives from knowledge that might anger them.

This mentality has transformed and had unintentional consequences. Now we have generations of women who cannot handle hearing hard truths without feeling unloved and men who are too spineless to speak the truth even when it hurts.

The Bible is clear that love never comes from deception. Out of truth comes love. So if we are to love one another then we must tell them the truth. Even when it hurts. This is what scripture teaches and we must trust that God's ways are higher than our ways.
