IL Officers Rescue Drowning 9-Yr-Old Boy, Mom from Frozen Pond

"I thought my son was not going to be here to see Thanksgiving," said the mother of a 9-year-old boy who fell through the ice in a pond behind his house while trying to retrieve a football. Aurora Illinois Police Department released footage of the daring rescue of both the young boy and his mother from the freezing water as she attempted to reach her son. In the course of action, two officers jumped into the water and were able to pull the mother and boy out safely. The boy and two officers were then taken and treated at the local hospital for minor injuries.
