Do Women REALLY have it easier on Twitch?

The recent news that Amouranth is the only woman in the top 100 streamers on twitch, based on watch time, brings the question of “do women really have it easier?” to light.
Quite often you will see viral tweets of some streamers complaining that women get it easier on the platform and are the reason they might not be seeing success in the industry. However, with websites such as rainmaker.gg publishing these kinds of stats on a monthly basis, it’s clear to see that streaming is still an extremely male-dominated industry.
Sadly, there is still a misogynistic view that women exploit their viewers by flaunting any assets they have, and creating parasocial relationships, to climb the ranks.
This opinion negates any hard work that they put in, degrades women, and suggests that women only find success because of their bodies.
Resulting in streamers, such as Amouranth, often finding themselves having to work twice as hard as their male peers to receive any form of recognition.
