Greece will begin replacing Russian-made weapons with NATO systems. This was reported in the Greek edition of Eleftheros Tipos.

It is noted that the process will begin in the near future. As follows from the article, the country is going to gradually "get rid of rather outdated Russian anti-aircraft systems," which Athens should have done a long time ago.

It is emphasized that this step of the authorities is connected with the "dramatic events" in Ukraine and the aggravation of relations between NATO and Moscow.

The publication drew attention to the fact that recently several countries of the alliance, including Poland and the Czech Republic, have also replaced weapons with American ones.

"For our country, such a replacement concerns the Tor-M1 anti-aircraft systems, as well as the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system, which was located in Heraklion on Crete for years," the article says.
