Boule: The Cross and Crescent

The climate of the 1960s Civil Rights Era saw the emergence of The Nation of Islam, and players such as Elijah Muhammad and his pupil Malcolm X, who was assassinated in 1965. Elijah had learned the peculiar teachings of W.D. Fard, whom Elijah claimed was Allah come to flesh. Fard, who had been a member of Drew Ali's Moorish Science Temple, mysteriously disappeared in 1934 leaving Elijah to continue his legacy. Under Muhammad, the Nation flourished even admist controversy. Elijah Muhammad wrote a book entitled "The Secrets of Freemasonry" but what relationship did Freemasonry have to his organizational philosophy? And did he initiate the assassination of Malcolm X?
