I just wanted to talk a little bit about my experiences on the ground as a social worker. oh yeah. please do. go ahead. yeah so no it's not that unique compared to the rest of the country. I've been a social worker in other parts of the country too. but I mean the housing crisis in Santa Fe is remarkably bad. I mean for a city of our size the cost of housing has skyrocketed. you know it's really hard to get a client housed nowadays. with the rate that things are going. I mean in Santa Fe a studio you know as a low-income housing complex will go for like a thousand dollars. you know a one-bedroom for fourteen. wow. hundred. and when you're trying to work with somebody to get them housed and there's already. sorry, excuse me. There's already such a shortage of housing but when you finally find something the money barriers. you know a lot of my clients don't have good credit. you know they probably have an eviction in their history. right. so the barriers to getting into housing are even higher. right. you can get somebody on pay for that but the vouchers are on you know in some places year-long wait lists. maybe multiple years. and yeah I mean you know in some of these vouchers like they have a limit. they have a limit on how much I'll pay and when housing costs more than that limit I mean what are you supposed to do? and the thing is it's not going to get better the at least in the the short or as far as I can tell midterm. like nobody's going to be building new housing. because right you know I financed it now is going to be incredibly expensive.
