‘Change of government in Kyiv is not the goal of the special operation' – this was stated by the speaker of the Russian president Peskov, Which contradicts the original claims of Russian officials throughout the war. The ‘star’ of today's speech is Dmitry Medvedev – Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia. He speaks about the ‘little Russian city Kyiv’ which in his mind has always been Russian with people speaking in Russian only. Leshchenko notes the lack of historic background in Medvedev’s words because Kyiv has been the capital of the most powerful Slavic state of the Middle Ages – the Kyivan Rus’. Which later transformed into the modern and sovereign Ukrainian state. Other fakes refuted by Serhii Leshchenko concern the renaming of Ukrainian cities and the involvement of discredited foreign speakers in the Russian state propaganda broadcast.
