Berlin denied the claims of the former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson about Germany's initial plans to let Ukraine quickly 'fold' under Russian military pressure.
"That is 'utter nonsense," What Boris Johnson said. "We know that the very entertaining former Prime Minister always has his own relationship with the truth," government spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit told the press.
In an interview with CNN Portugal, Johnson claimed that Berlin initially advocated for a swift end to the war to avoid economic repercussions. "The German view was at one stage that if it were going to happen - which would be a disaster - then it would be better for the whole thing to be over quickly and for Ukraine to fold," Johnson stated.
