A1 Race between a fastest Rabbit and a slowest Turtle
This is a tale of a race between a Hare / Rabbit and Turtle.
Once upon a time there was a fast rabbit who boasted about how fast he could run. Tired of his boasting, Turtle challenged him to a race. All the animals in the forest gathered to watch. The bunny ran down the street for a while, and then stopped to rest. He looked back at the turtle and yelled, "How are you going to win this race walking at your slow, slow pace?" The rabbit stretched out by the road and fell asleep, thinking, "It's time to rest." The Story of the Rabbit and the TurtleThe turtle went on and on and never stopped until she reached the finish line. The animals applauded the turtle so loudly that they woke the rabbit. The rabbit stretched, yawned, and ran on, but it was too late. The turtle has already crossed the finish line.
Moral: The slow and tenacious win the race. We all grew up with this story. But recently two additions to the story have been proposed.
Supplement 1: After being defeated by the tortoise, the rabbit went into introspection. He knew that although he tried very hard at first, he was inconsistent and getting cocky. Determined to correct his mistakes, he invited the turtle to another race. This time the hare ran cautiously the whole distance and of course emerged as the winner. Moral: Fast and consistent can be better than slow and steady.
Supplement 2: Well, after losing the second race, the turtle thought for a long time. He knew that if the rabbit was fast and consistent, it would win in any traditional terrain. So he thought about unconventional terrain for the race. Then he invited the rabbit to another race. This time the rabbit laughed out loud, thinking the turtle had gotten out of his head. But the tortoise insisted there would be another race, and the tortoise set the terrain. Rabbit agreed to this idea. The race has started. The hare went ahead and the tortoise crept far behind. About halfway through the race, they hit a river. The rabbit stopped on the bank of the river and considered how to cross the river. Meanwhile, the turtle slowly approached the river, stepped into the water, swam across, climbed to the other side, ran the last few kilometers, and won the race. Moral: When your chances are below average, choose the playing field that gives you a natural advantage.
