A major newspaper this week was forced to retract an article incorrectly alleging that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas met with each other immediately before the Court's historic repeal of Roe v Wade.  That newspaper, the Independent, originally claimed in a Thursday report that "Florida Governor Ron DeSantis met with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas the day before the Supreme Court announced its ruling that overturned Roe v Wade." 
That assertion was evidently based on a misreading of dates, with reporter Eric Garcia apparently failing to recognize the year between when the two public figures...
