Surprised to hear that WALKING is better than running for WEIGHT LOSS? You'd obviously burn more calories running, right? Well, not so fast!

Your body wants to conserve energy, so when you exercise, it lowers your basal metabolic rate to make up for some of the calories you burned exercising! (See study mentioned in the video)

And actually, there are several reasons WALKING may be less likely to decrease your basal metabolic rate than running. PLUS, there are other great things about walking that make it better than running if you want to lose weight! Not to mention it's much more enjoyable :)
