Use gun site on the staple gun, to safely secure the ethernet cable.

Easy, fast and cheap way to secure network cables so they aren't a trip hazard. Lightly press staple gun, atop tge cable. Pull trigger. Tines go on either side. Don't press hard on the cable.
9/16s staples will fit around standard Ethernet cable. Available at Lowes. Stanley Bosttich Staple gun. use appropriate safety procedures.
