1. The whole of Ukraine's western city of Lviv is without power after widespread strikes were reported - including in the capital Kyiv.

Neighbouring country Moldova also reported "massive" blackouts, although it has not been directly hit.

Lviv's mayor urged people to shelter, while the head of the wider Kyiv region said critical infrastructure and homes had been attacked.

Russia has recently increased its attacks on Ukrainian energy networks.

3. An electricity substation in the Lvov Region has been hit by a missile, which cut power supply to three of the region’s districts, Maksim Kozitsky, head of the regional administration, said on Wednesday.

"Electricity substation in the Lvov Region has been struck. Power cuts in Yavorovsky, Lvovsky and Chervonogradsky districts," he said on Telegram.

Emergency power cuts have been introduced, he said.

Lvov Mayor Andrey Sadovoy earlier said the city had lost power supply completely. The city’s water and heating supply has also come to a stop. The mayor said the city is starting to use diesel-powered electricity generators.

4. On November 23, Russian Ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova due to power outages in the republic. The diplomatic department intends to express a protest to the Russian ambassador, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, Nikolai Popescu.

"Popescu urgently demanded that the Russian ambassador be summoned to the Foreign Ministry in order to express a strong protest," the Moldavian Foreign Ministry's Telegram channel said.

According to Moldovan diplomats, power outages in Moldova arose due to the destruction of energy infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.
