On October 15, a killer whale washed up on a beach in the Netherlands, forcing the Royal Dutch Rescue Company to help the cetacean.
The rescue group managed to return the orca to deeper waters, but in less than an hour it was stranded on the beach again, indicating that the animal was in very poor condition.
Veterinarians from the SOS Dolphin Foundation announced that they had sedated her to stop her suffering, since nothing could be done to save her.
