Trees and Lions: Far from the kingdom was a vast jungle. Thousands of trees grew in this jungle. Among them were two very good friends. They stood next to each other. The same jungle was home to many lions. These lions killed and ate other animals living in the jungle. The carcasses of the animals stank, and an unpleasant odor hung in the air. The whole atmosphere was life-threatening. One day two trees that were friends were talking. The first tree said, "These lions are polluting our jungle. We must save our jungle from them. They must be driven out of this jungle." "Yes," agreed the other tree. Listening to his friends, the wise old tree said, "Maybe they pollute the air. But these wild creatures protect us from lumberjacks. No lumberjack will dare to enter the forest where the lions are.” But this advice did not occur to the trees. Two friends decided to scare the animals away. That evening two trees trembled violently. "We will scare away the lions. They will be so scared that they will leave this jungle and never come back to this jungle," the two friends said, laughing out loud. The whole forest echoed with their laughter. "Don't do that," cried the wise tree. But the two friends didn't listen. They started moving in the wind and making terrible noises. AII other wild animals in the forest got scared when they saw two trees and the noises they were making. "Something is happening in the forest. Let's run away," they said. AII the animals have escaped from the jungle. The two friends were happy. "Hmm! Now we can get some fresh air," they said. But their joy was short-lived. One day a lumberjack came into the forest and started cutting down trees. "Now the wild lions are not afraid anymore," he murmured softly. Other lumberjacks soon appeared. Seeing this, the wise tree said, "Now we are all lost." The two friends exclaimed, "What fools we were. We should have listened to that wise tree." A little later, a lumberjack's ax-felled two forest friends. Trees and lions are a must. Day after day, many loggers destroyed more and more trees.
Moral: Intelligence is more important than strength, therefore the earth is ruled by humans, not animals.
