On March 19, 2022, Maricopa police responded to a car in a ditch near Honeycutt and White and Parker roads. Officers arrested Kio A. Thomas on suspicion of driving under the influence. She ultimately faced additional charges after allegedly assaulting officers and Fire/Medical personnel called to the police station to assess her health. Maricopa police provided six hours of body cam footage from the incident; This is an edited down version.
