Dual US-Saudi national Saad Ibrahim Almadi was arrested

Dual US-Saudi national Saad Ibrahim Almadi was arrested when he arrived in Saudi Arabia to visit family in November 2021. Earlier this year he was sentenced to 16 years in jail by a court in Saudi Arabia for tweets he sent while living in the US. Alamdi’s case was prosecuted by notorious Saudi courts held behind closed doors, giving judges the freedom to pass long prison sentences and even the death penalty without a way for appeal or fair trial.
