Australia floods: thousands ordered to evacuate as floods hit Victoria and Tasmania

Many Victorians are on flood alert as rising waters from heavy rains threaten houses. Residents along the Maribyrnong River in Melbourne have been instructed to leave as the waterway swelled and spilled into residential areas. Areas of northern Tasmania are also under evacuation orders following days of wild weather
