This cute little burrowing owl was running around a Las Vegas parking lot catching bugs at night in November. Burrowing owls are nocturnal, hunting insects & small rodents at night while sleeping in underground burrows during the day. They are 10 inches tall & weigh only about 6 ounces. They are protected by law and have sharp strong talons.
