Over the past 10 to 15 years, the psychology of mainstream video games have rapidly changed. Where once the format was a simple one (create game, sell game, get paid)... it is now a complex blueprint of mimicry and psychological predation. Common themes shared with Vegas slot machines, games that rely on addictive properties... and an industry that is (as of yet) unregulated by adequate standards.

What will happen? Who knows. But the industry cannot continue on its current path without some sort of dramatic consequence.
