Kang Soo-yeon, award-winning S. Korean actress, dies at 55

'월드스타' 영화배우 강수연 별세…향년 55세

South Korean film icon... actress Kang Soo-yeon died Saturday,... two days after she was discovered in a state of cardiac arrest at her home in Seoul.
She was 55.
Kang's career began in 1969 when she was just four years old.
She won the Best Actress Award at the Venice Film Festival in 1987... for her role in the film "The Surrogate Woman," making her the first South Korean actor to win an award at one of the "big three" film festivals.
Two years later, she also won Best Actress at the Moscow International Film Festival for the movie "Come, Come, Come Upward."
Kang had been set for a comeback this year with a lead role in a new Netflix original film.
Her funeral will take place on Wednesday.
