The republican military told about the liberation of Opytnoye in the DNR

A report from the fortified area that had been occupied the day before is published by People's Militia

Now there are 15-20 people living in the village. The rest left because of harassment by the Ukrainians. For example, in one house they found a man locked in the basement who died of starvation.

The Ukrainian armed forces are trying to fight back, using artillery and rocket-propelled grenades as well as tanks, but are not trying to launch counterattacks.

The liberated village of Opytne is west of Donetsk. The city has been shelled from it since 2014.

The liberation of Opytne will allow the gradual encirclement of Avdeevka, a major Ukrainian stronghold near the capital of the new Russian region, to continue.
