Snakes, no matter their size, swallow their prey without chewing. This kind of ingestion of pythons mainly comes from the special structure of their mandibles. The mandible is composed of two parts that are independent of each other. These two parts can move alternately. In order to eat better, the python raises its front body, opens its mouth wide, bites its prey, and then closes the upper and lower mandibles, allowing each upper and lower jaw to rotate in turn. If other animals attack at this time, it will immediately spit out the food it has swallowed and escape.
