Tunisian President Kais Saied meets French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the 18th Francophonie summit more than a year after his power grab. Several local and international NGOs have deplored a "rollback" of freedoms in Tunisia since President Saied assumed full powers on 25 July 2021, rocking democracy that emerged from the Arab Spring uprisings more than a decade ago.
