I had planned to plant bare-root strawberry plants a couple of months ago but as you know, it's been a very cold start to spring. The plants arrived at the end of February and instead of chancing it outdoors, I potted the plants up and grew them on in the greenhouse.

It's now finally warm enough to plant them in the garden! I've been given two types of strawberries from Thompson & Morgan to try out -- Mara des Bois, that I've really been wanting to grow, and Just Add Cream, a new one for me.

The Mara des Bois have always been destined for the allotment garden but I recently decided to plant the Just Add Cream plants in a strawberry pot. The plants are smallish and I think would suit growing in a container.
