An Improved Script to Save Storage Space on Steam Deck!

An improved, friendlier script to save storage space on your Steam Deck by moving internal compatibility data and shader pre-cache data to the same MicroSD card as the game for that data is installed. Always remember that the less data you write to your internal SSD, the longer it will last, so this script also solves that issue.

Additionally, this new script can handle the conflict that can happen if you have compatibility data for one game in both your internal storage and the MicroSD card. In that case, it will prioritize the existing compatibility and shader data in the MicroSD card and remove it from internal storage as its goal is to save internal storage space.

Keep in mind that there are two scripts in there now; make sure you choose the transferCacheToSDCard.sh script.

During the video, there's a point where I mention that a user on Reddit has created some resources to fix compatibility issues with the 8bitDo Ultimate 2.4Ghz Controller. Originally (and when I did it), it was a series of commands to type over on Konsole on your Steam Deck. He offers a script now so it's a lot easier to do. Here's where to find it:

I didn't really seek to have my second video be about an alternate script for saving space on the Steam Deck, but once the conversation got going to improve the script over on Reddit, I couldn't help but get to it immediately!
