The TRUTH Regarding AG Garland’s Special Counsel Jack Smith

Surprise. Surprise. The latest Special Counsel assigned to investigate former President Donald Trump actually has a history of targeting conservatives.

As reported late Friday afternoon by Fox News:

"Attorney General Merrick Garland on Friday named a special counsel to investigate the entirety of the criminal probe into the unlawful retention of national defense information at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, Fox News has learned.

Garland appointed former Justice Department official Jack Smith to the role. Smith, a former assistant U.S. attorney and chief to the DOJ's public integrity section, will oversee the investigation into Trump's retention of classified documents after leaving the White House and whether the former president obstructed the federal government's investigation into the matter.

Smith is also tasked with overseeing the investigation into whether Trump or other officials and entities interfered with the peaceful transfer of power following the 2020 presidential election, including the certification of the Electoral College vote on Jan. 6, 2021."

In fact the selected Special Counsel, Jack Smith, who was appointed of course by Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate President Trump, was one of the lawyers at the Department of Justice (DOJ) who worked with Lois Lerner to investigate some of these conservative groups, specifically members of the Tea Party, to essentially see if there are potential criminal activities (regardless of any evidence) that they could bring forward criminal charges and shut them down.

Charges often stem from investigations, but it sure sounds like Mr. Smith already has his marching orders to find and charge, whatever it takes. Of course, Robert Mueller had his orders too, and remember what he found – nothing. No charges. That’s how due process is supposed to work.
