WHAT DOES HEALTHY FUNCTION MEAN FOR YOUR BODY?

Did you know that Healthy function of your body is maintained by 11 organ systems? they are Respiratory System, Circulatory System, Digestive System, Urinary System, Integumentary System, Nervous System, Endocrine System, Immune System, Musculoskeletal System, Reproductive and Lymphatic System. In order to work well, each system needs energy from food. If one system is dysfunctional, the other organ systems will become compromised over time as well.

So what are the basic nutrition rules of healthy function?

The body needs nutrients to support its organ systems. Macronutrients which are larger molecules include carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, while micronutrients which are smaller molecules include vitamins and minerals. Macro and micronutrients both play a vital role in the normal healthy function of your body. The key to delivering these nutrients to the organ systems hinges on digestion and absorption. This very important process requires both digestive enzymes and metabolic enzymes.

Digestive and metabolic enzymes help the body absorb nutrients and deliver to the cells that need them to heal and repair.

Every food component has a matching enzyme: fats match to lipase; proteins have proteases; carbohydrates belong to various amylases and so on. Under normal healthy conditions, your digestive enzymes are produced by glands and organs such as the stomach, liver, and pancreas. As food gets eaten and digested, the digestive enzymes match with the right macronutrient. Food components are broken down and get absorb into the body through the blood in the small intestine.

Metabolic enzymes are made by every cell in your body. Their purpose is to support function of the specific body system such as the gut, circulatory system, muscles and bones, liver and skin. When metabolic enzymes work with properly digested macro and micronutrients, your cells can produce enough energy to power all the organ systems.

As I have mentioned in our introduction video of enzyme nutrition, STRESS can interfere with your body’s ability to use enzymes. In general, digestive enzymes require four things to be present for the enzymes to work properly.

1. The correct pH
2. Food to chew on
3. The right temperature
4. You have to be well hydrated, so water is very important

When your body under any stress, including physical, chemical, or emotional, the amount of enzymes secretion is reduced. If any of these steps is compromised and your cells can’t produce the energy for its organ systems, the body will begin to exhibit symptoms that indicate the body is struggling to maintain its internal balance. The greater the deviation from normal function, the greater the damaging symptoms, and the greater the chance for your body to enter state of declined health.

Digestive enzymes are not only found in the body but are also found in whole, raw foods. When chewed properly, raw foods will release their enzymes to aid in digestion, lessening the burden of digestion on your body’s resources.

Supplemental digestive enzymes which are primarily plant based can fill a vital role in the digestive process and help maintain a normal state of balance known as homeostasis.

I will go into detail of homeostasis in the next video.

What can you take home today that can start helping you with healthier function of your body? Do you remember what I told you about water? Did you know that your body is 60-70% water and if you are dehydrated the enzymes that your body producing or if you are supplementing will not work 100%.

I challenge you to search and reach out to your local enzyme specialist doctor and ask to be evaluated for supplementing enzymes and see what kind of digestive wonder it could do for you.
