How to change to decora outlet without turning power off. In this video, I show you how to change a duplex outlet to a decora outlet without turning the power off. If you are on YouTube trying to learn how to do this, you really shouldn't be doing it live. With that said, I was too lazy to go find the right breaker to turn off and because I am an electrician with 30 years or so of experience, it's not a big deal for me and I did it live. Over the course of the video, I give you some pointers on where the dangers are and how to avoid them. I also talk about standard procedure, what tools you will need, and a little about the National Electrical Code. If you choose to do it live, peed at your own risk, I told you not to do it.
