A 41-year-old man was handed an eight-year prison sentence for "anti-state activities" by a court in Vietnam's Thanh Hoa province on Friday after a two-day trial. Bui Van Thuan was detained after he posted a comment on Facebook questioning the administration's handling of the pandemic. He'll be placed under house arrest for five years following his release, Thuan's lawyers said.
