Of the 20 countries and regions that are members of the G20, there are 3 state leaders who are confirmed not to be present in Bali, namely the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, the President of Brazil and the President of Mexico. Meanwhile, 17 state leaders will attend the G20 Summit which will be held from 15 to 16 November.

Putin's absence was in the spotlight, because President Joko Widodo had personally invited him to hold a meeting in Moscow, Russia, at the end of last June the day after meeting the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv, Ukraine. However, the Kremlin sent Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to Bali. The reason Putin was absent was because he already had other agendas in his country.
