Beijing believes the US has a dual personality

(My own opinion)
The US government, with the exception of some parts of the Trump administration, has been sociopathic after Reagan left office. If Trump returns in 2024 to a MAGA house and a MAGA leaning senate, things will improve noticeably. However, if the American people themselves don't actively take control of their government and maintain that control, the US will become merely a sidebar in world history.
