Inviting Vladimir Putin to the G20 Summit, Legislators: Hard Test of Indonesian Diplomacy
1 year ago
1.11K
Commission I member Muhammad Farhan said the decision to invite Russian President Vladimir Putin to the G20 Summit was one of the toughest tests the Indonesian government was facing. This is because Indonesia is a non-aligned country and is politically active and free.
According to Farhan, Indonesia can convince countries allied to the United States that inviting Russia does not mean taking sides and convincing other countries that the G20 Summit can become a forum for stopping the war between Russia and Ukraine. This is because the cessation of war is part of the constitution in Indonesia.
