NSW Central West on high alert amid rising flood levels

The New South Wales Central West is on high alert as flood levels rise faster than predicted.

The town of Forbes has been split into “islands” as residents are cut off from the central business district.

There are fears many more homes and businesses could be inundated as the Bureau of Meteorology warns the Lachlan River could reach a 70-year flood peak this morning.
