G20; Russia Comes, America Disappears

Not a bluff! The United States proved the G20 boycott by walking out, leaving the G20 Finance Ministers meeting in Washington DC, when senior Russian officials gave speeches. US Treasury Secretary Janet Yallen left the forum, followed by the Governor of the Central Bank of England, the Minister of Finance of Canada, and the Governor of the European Union Central Bank.

How will Indonesia react? Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati emphasized that the walkout from America, Britain and Canada as members of the G20 was not surprising. Without America, the G20 meeting will continue. President Jokowi also emphasized that he had invited Russian President Vladimir Putin and also invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to attend the G20 Summit in Bali in November 2022.
