Dead Space mobile was released in January 2011. I personally would call those couple years preceding and succeeding 2011 the golden years of mobile phone gaming. We seen games like 9mm, which was a Max Payne itch scratcher for mobile players. Infinity blade, which was something all together new for the time. and Shadowgun, which was a gears of war style game for mobile device users. The list goes on and on of amazing mobile games that we can no longer play today because they've been taken down and no longer supported on the stores. Dozens of really good mobile games.

Dead Space has long been heralded as one of the best survival horror games to ever grace our screens, and lots of fans are excited for the re make that's set for release early next year. With that in mind, you might have a Dead Space-shaped hole in your life while you wait, so what if I said you can play this no longer available game on the PlayStation Vita? The Vita may have been killed by Sony long ago, but there are a group of individuals out there that still produce content for the device. One of these individuals is Ukraine-based Volodymyr Atamanenko, a fan who decided that the PS Vita needed Dead Space's survival horror and has now ported the Xperia Play release of Dead Space to the handheld.

While it might have the same name as the original 2008 release of Dead Space, this 2011 mobile version of Dead Space is a spin-off that is set after the events of the original game and before the events of Dead Space 2 and shows how the Necromorph outbreak began and spread through the Titan Sprawl. It's great to see game communities keeping titles and platforms alive by supporting them long after official development has ceased and I hope to see more of this in the future. Dead Space, also known as Dead Space iOS, is a third person shooter mobile game developed by Iron Monkey Studios. It was originally meant to be released exclusively for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The game was also released for all Android devices, the Kindle fire, and BlackBerry PlayBook tablet on August 18, 2011. As of September 2015, it is no longer available for purchase from the App Store (iOS).

Dead Space iOS takes place in the year 2511 and serves as the precursor to the events that transpire in Dead Space: Ignition, Dead Space 2 and Severed. iOS, follows the story of an engineer known as Vandal, a newly converted Unitologist, on Titan Station; Vandal is sent on various repair missions by Tyler Radikov and Director Hans Tiedemann.
