A Saudi dissident named Jamal Khashoggi fled to the US. He strongly lambasted the country and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in his Washington Post columns. Khashoggi was killed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, four years ago. According to US intelligence, the Crown Prince authorized the crime. The crown prince was sued by Khashoggi's fiancée in a US federal court. Attorneys for the prince contended that a head of state has sovereign immunity and cannot be sued. The Biden administration concurred today. The news, according to Khashoggi's fiancée, made her feel as though the man she loved had passed away once more, while the perpetrator of his murder once more dodged punishment.
